Brand New to Mountain Biking These clinics start at the very beginning, teaching you about how your bike works and all the basics to get you rolling on the dirt safely. You don’t need any previous knowledge about mountain biking to join these.
Beginner Cornering These clinics cover correct body position on the bike, how to safely and effectively use your brakes, tackle corners of all shapes and sizes. This is a great clinic to take after you’ve taken Brand New Mountain Biker and have practiced riding on your own a couple of times.
Fundamentals These clinics cover correct body position on the bike, how to safely and effectively use your brakes, tackle corners of all shapes and ride efficiently over small obstacles. While the curriculum is designed for beginners, it is an excellent way for seasoned riders to review the basics and break old habits and ride trails with renewed confidence. The full day fundamentals clinics have the added bonus of a trail ride to review all the skills that were covered in the morning as well as a few more skills that are easier to learn on the trails.
Intro to Intermediate Skills This course will give you the tools and confidence you need to go from a nervous fundamentals rider to becoming a rider ready to take on any of our intermediate courses. This weekday course is designed for riders that have taken a fundamentals clinic and would like to learn more but don’t feel ready to take on an intermediate clinic.
Intermediate These all day clinics are designed for those that have been riding for at least 2 year or have previously attended one of our clinics. These cover technical rock and root riding as well as technical cornering including berms and switchbacks. These clinics will not cover drops, jumps or getting air; those skills are covered during our 2-day clinics or weekday clinics. Ride away from this clinic with more confidence on rough terrain and riding corners with greater speed and control.
Intermediate Cornering These clinics are designed for those that have been riding for at least 2 year or have previously attended one of our clinics. This clinic is super focused on technical cornering including berms and switchbacks. We will break down each component of a corner and teach you to tackle any shape and size of corner. These clinics will not cover riding roots, rocks, drops, jumps or getting air; those skills are covered during our other clinics. Ride away from this clinic with more confidence on rough terrain and riding corners with greater speed and control.
Intermediate 2.0 These clinics are for returning WOMEN IN THE MOUNTAINS CLIENTS that want to refine what they learned in their intermediate clinic with Women in the Mountains. We review the intermediate class skills for about 20 minutes then start to build speed and finesse to every skill. This clinic is for riders that know how to control the bike and understand bike/body separation. We will build on that body awareness and balance and take you to the next level! Riders must have fitness and be confident on single track and eager to take their skills to the next level.
Technical Rock Riding These weekday clinics focus on riding up and down rocks of all shapes and sizes. We will cover your body position, ideal speed, where to look and everything else you need to ride up and down the trickiest rock gardens.
Intro to Drops, Jumps and Air These clinics are held during the week when the trails are less crowded and we can take our time scoping lines and walking the terrain before riding it. These clinics build the foundation of dynamic riding with wheel lifts, manuals, bunny hops and pumping all leading to drops or jumps. The “Intro to” clinics are for experienced riders that are new to these skills.
2-Day (All skill levels) The 2-day clinic format builds your skills from the foundation up. Each skill builds on the last and after 2 full days, you will have covered all the skills you need to tackle any trail. We have multiple coaches ready to work with every level of rider. Intermediate riders can expect to cover the foundational skills quickly and move onto technical rock riding, fast cornering, tight cornering, pumping, drops and dynamic riding. Beginners can expect to thoroughly learn the foundational skills and be introduced to intermediate skills. You will ride away from this weekend ready to ride a wider variety of terrain with more speed and efficiency, no matter where you started!
