The first thing you need to know about maintaining your bike, is how to lube the chain! It is very simple and pays off in a big way to keep your bike running smooth. In the summer, you may need to lube your chain after every single ride when it’s super dusty. In the spring and fall, when the dirt is more packed down, you may only need to do it once per week. If your chain gets muddy, you’ll need to clean it first, then you can lube it. A happy chain makes for a happy bike makes for a happy ride!
