Pre-Riding 5 mile pass (1st REAL use of Garmin Edge)

Seriously? 37 degrees at the parking lot for 5-mile pass? Seriously?

But it was fine, I warmed up quickly. In fact, I stopped to shed my coat then proceeded to drop it at some unknown time. This, I did not discover until I was at mile 8.5 of 11. So, I begrudgingly turned around to go find it. It ended up being a positive thing, not only because I essentially got to double my workout, but, at the top of the hike-a-bike section I met Brad Keyes of Carbo Rocket. The funny thing was that Johnny had just texted (1 hour previously) me to say I needed to try Carbo Rocket, that lots of the mountain bike racers are using it. I showed Brad the text and chatted for a few minutes. Then I continued on my search for my jacket & ran into Ed Chauners (race director for the Intermountain Cup). He was doing some additional trail marking & luckily had picked up my jacket.

The meadowlarks were singing up a storm for my whole ride, they sound so happy & springy that I had to add this short clip.
