Tetons, Pre-Race

My new friends from the Revolution team rode up to Jackson with me. Lucy is a Geologist and her husband is a pilot for Southwest. Lucy was kind enough to offer one of the beds in the Hostel to me. She, Bob & Carl had rented the room and had an extra bed. I was thrilled to have friends to ride and share with (I'd planned on camping alone-how boring!). The Hostel was an "experience" to remember. We ended up with 5 people in a 4 bed room. I didn't get much sleep, but at least I wasn't on the floor (thanks Drew for taking one for the team!). Drew was the team photographer & bottle hand up guy. He has a European endurance race coming up, so chose to not race this short xc race.
The pre-ride was really beneficial, it's such a technical course that I needed all the experience I could get on it. We ran into a mangy but proud little fox, I love being welcomed to a new place by an animal!
We had dinner at Calicos, one of my family's favorite restaurants. When we got back to the room, we all ate another dinner (PB & J for me). Although the food is fantastic, it's not enough for a pre-race dinner.
