I rarely have the opportunity to ride with my husband anymore, what with our 2 year old child needing constant adult supervision. But with a babysitter on call and a few hours to ourselves (and our friend Bill), we decided to hit the trails and enjoy some husband and wife alone time (with our friend Bill). It was great to speed along the trails of west Las Vegas, burning up the climbs, trying to not be blown off the trail by crazy strong winds and smashing into Yucca trees. Yes, my husband, managed to clip a large Yucca and smash head-first onto the hard, dry single track, breaking his helmet into several pieces and leaving some attractive swatches of skin for the desert creatures to admire.

Quick shout out to Rob, who let me borrow a pair of gloves when I found myself ready to roll out the BD parking lot at 48 degrees and bare hands. Thanks for saving my fingers!

SOTD: Melectric by Ramona Falls. Ramona Falls is absolute genius music making. Every song on their album is amazing. It's not exactly music for riding to, just for listening. They made my all time favorite music video: "I Say Fever".
