One year later

One year ago today I had my epic crash that landed me in the hospital with fractured ribs and a collapsed and bruised lung. It was heartbreaking, I thought my world was over and that I'd never recover. HOWEVER...lots of lessons were learned and I'm now stronger than ever! I was sad to have missed the second half of my season, but it wasn't the end of the world. It was a few weeks later that my coach challenged me to the Whole30. While doing that I became friends with Dallas  and Melissa, the founders of Whole9. They've not only been amazing friends for John and me, they've inspired me to keep up the paleo diet. I rarely think about my crash, it's not important anymore. I do think about how I'm blessed to have a great family and ever growing group of incredible friends that support me in my racing dream. Thank you to all of you that supported me through those rough months and continue to love and support me.
EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to my husband and father! You are both great examples to me and give me amazing support!

Sperometer (tests lung capacity; it was my nemesis for almost 4 weeks)-it is going in the garbage tonight!
