DIRT JUMPERS

This weekend has been all about Dirt Jumpers! I made plans to go the PC dirt jumps for the first time with some friends.  I borrowed my nephew's bike and had such a great time! From the first run of rolling everything to the last run 3 hours later I had improved a lot and was getting my wheels off the ground a little. As soon as I was done I called John and went on and on about how much fun it was and that I needed to get my own dirt jumper asap! Eric was telling me about the different frames and specs and I was thinking I'd try to find a used one. (Let me back up here, I rode one breifly last year, loved it and had sort of been talking about getting one since then). As luck would have it, it was my 11 year wedding anniversary. A few minutes laster John pulled in the driveway with.....my OWN dirt jumper! He'd ordered it a few days prior and had just picked it up! I was honestly more excited about it than any other present in recent memory! Even though I was spent from a few hours of riding I had to take my new jumper out for a spin. My nephew went with me to the pump track and we celebrated with lots of rounds of pumping!
Dirt Jumpers explained: I've never read about them, all I know is they feel very different from an xc frame, they go through a pump track in a completely different way than an xc bike. They want to jump and flow. It's the small geometry, 26" wheels and the low seat. That's all I know. I can tell you that they are the most fun I've had on a bike in a long time. It's like flying! Try it!
