Sundance Spin turned out to be another really great race. I ended up in second place. Race Results are here. It was a gorgeous day, with perfect cool temperatures & brilliant sunshine. I felt good on the climbs, it was the descents that were my real weakness. There are lots of really tight switchbacks & I slow down too much for them. I'll be working on my descending skills a lot these next few weeks. The race starts (and ends) on a really steep paved road that turns to dirt, you are climbing at approximately 8% grade for the first (and last) half mile. It then turns to single-track for the next mile and a half that is next to impossible to pass on. After that there are plenty of spots for passing and you are riding through beautiful green grass & trees.
My computer didn't log all of the miles, but it shows I did all 3 laps. I'm not sure what it missed. I'm slightly disappointed I didn't get my HR over 180, I'm kicking myself for not pushing it a little harder on that uphill finish. I didn't even stand up for a finish line sprint, oh well, next time.
A map of the course, notice all of the green, so beautiful!

After the race I talked to Erin Collins, the girl that took 1st place. She is super nice and super fast.
This last race bumped me up in the overall series, at the moment I happen to have the highest point total. We'll see if I can hang on to this!
Thanks again to TSJ for these most of these photos, she, Brain & McKay do a great job being my support out there.
