I was actually so excited about this morning's ride that I had a hard time falling asleep last night. That's how you know I'm a little sick. It's was the first workout where I get to push since I raced 4 weeks ago. I was supposed to do 3 x 20 min in zone 3. My 3rd rep fell apart a bit since I was on a different saddle and was "uncomfortable" to say the least. I'm going to try the saddle again tomorrow with different tights and see if that helps.
When I leave my house there are street lights for the first 6-7 minutes then I launch into the abyss of the desert. It immediately turns pitch black and for some reason I get a rush out of that. I love riding out into that abrupt black abyss. Today I didn't see any other riders until I was on my home, around mile 20. I felt like the desert was "mine", just a few cars passed and not even any runners in the "exit" parking lot. I love living so close to place that can be so empty at times.
For my first 20 minute rep I reverted to my favorite album from my favorite band of all time:
2nd rep was Discovery
3rd rep was Caribou
Now here are some more desert photos that I can't seem to stop myself from taking.
