My dear friend Melissa joined me for this weekend's race. Together with her husband Dallas, they created the Whole30 and run Whole9Life. She took time out her busy work and home life to be with me! She left her sweet 1 year old for the first time to help me with pre and post-race nutrition, general race and moral support. OK, we also had tons of fun since it was also a girls trip; plenty of dance parties, laughing and even a few tears. I couldn't have done it without her this weekend. She made my food, shuttled me to the descent for the pre-ride and many other helpful things the very least of which was doing my race support in Skull Valley! She was also there on the finish line when I couldn't stop crying because I was so tired! Everyone needs a good friend that is willing to go on a race weekend!
